Georgi and Alastair join us

We had a couple of things that needed boatyard attention so Rog and I sailed back to Rome from Gaeta and waited a couple of days for Georgia and Alastair. They flew in from cold Melbourne on 3 June and once again we headed to Ponza

We anchored in the bay at Gaeta in the oldest part of town. Quite incredible all the layers of civilisation that are visible.

The 2 June was Republic Day – a public holiday for all Italians and it coincided with the start of summer – a long weekend – Italians are very happy

Where we had been one of 3 or 4 boats on Ponza 10 days ago, now there are 100’s

Frotene Beach

All of a sudden it has got much hotter plus zero wind. Also the ‘Medusa’ have appeared- tiny little stinging jellyfish so I have opted for the mask so I can skirt around them
