Saturday 19 August
We flew from Newcastle on Tyne early Friday morning. It's direct – 3 hours – and you step onto Corfu Island and 34 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, not a breath of wind.
It took us a good night's sleep to recover and this morning we have washed and scrubbed and shopped for provisions.
It's very busy in Gouvia Marina – lists of people on holidays and Saturday is changeover day for the charter yachts. Busy, busy, busy.
The guys who work on the marina servicing and repairing are amazing – service is instant, payment is cash and they run from one boat to another.
Now we have technically exited Greece and we are waiting at Mandraki Marina for Georgia who flies in tonight from Switzerland.
Mandraki is one of my favourite places as we are moored at the bottom of the castle. We walk up through the castle gates across the moat and we are in old Corfu town. Unique.
It's a beautiful day again, no wind and a few clouds. Our plan is to leave Greece early hours of Monday morning hopefully with with wind!
I get to put my feet up and ……
Roger gets to push the trolley – reluctantly
A blissful day

The fabulous ferries

And here we are – Mandraki
Bye for now
Now I see where all those Coles trolleys have gone …
Hi Jane and Rog,
Sounds like you are having a grand time. England is so green and beautiful. I think we all might have been in the same county at one point for about an hour. Tessie and I drove up to NW Scotland to the remote highlands to explore my ancestry. It was incredibly wonderful. So vast and grand – a magnificent landscape covered in heather and wildflowers.
Just for a giggle-here is an article about the car stacker collapse that Manjit sent me.

It will be interesting to see how the case pans out. Sounds like they didn’t comply to the installation requirements.
Safe travels and keep us in the loop,
