We flew out of Venice twice! The first flight took a while to start as torrential rain and wind began as we took our place on the runway. So much lightening we really felt happy to stay on the ground. But after 40 minutes we took off in thick cloud, rain, lightening and wind. Not nice. After 40 minutes of flying to where we don’t know, the captain announced we had to go back to Venice due to the bad weather.
Once on the ground a technical problem is confessed to and a new plane is being sought. 3 more hours and we take off again for Corfu and this time we flew all the way around the storm.
Straight from the airport to the ferry terminal and across to Igoumenitsa. Then bus 2 hours to Lefkada.
We are so happy to be here and feeling rather tired. Looking forward to a good sleep on the boat.
Last night the deluge began – the first rain since May a lady told us. A lot of rain but it is still 27. It seems that same storm has followed us and will hang around for a couple of days.

In between storms we have mooted down to Porto Vathi at the bottom of Ithaca. It’s jumping – charter boats, holiday makers, and locals. Local businesses are improving every time we come here. Quite a contrast to the doom and gloom of 14 months ago.

Guys you are so close, we are in Argostoli on Keffalinia – just next door approx 60 NM apart! We are heading to Patras tomorrow before transiting the Corinth Canal. Which way are you heading? Love Terry & Jan
