We spent a restful day yesterday swimming off the boat. A small island in the middle of the bay was the perfect place for some quiet practice on my mat. Sometimes the spaces and places available are very public and it always creates attention.
Vathi was a really nice harbour. The locals are very local. Two strong family lines that have been here forever. And they are very proud of their Odysseus heritage.
There are small beaches, clear blue green water and tree covered hiilsides. In the afternoon sun the smell of the Cyprus and the juniper trees is like maple syrup. It wafts over everything.
