Corsica to Sardegna

We have covered quite a bit of ground in the last 10 days.

After Bonifacio we headed across to Sardegna to have a look see and reconnoiter the Maddalenas.

They are a group of islands sitting on the North East tip of Sardegna with reputedly beautiful anchorages. Nelson hung out here on Maddalena, the largest island and regrouped before Trafalgar.

It is an amazing array of islands with channels and passages through. There are car ferry services from the main island of Sardegna and sometimes causeways connecting the close ones.

The channel between Corsica and Sardegna is only 12 nm wide so it is a quick trip. It can be a little windy and bigger swell as any channel between islands can be.

The Islet of Lavezzi lies in the channel and is a superb Anchorage on a calm day plus there is even a beach with white sand

The individual architecture of this part of Sardegna. Beautiful, unusual, organic and immaculate

This top part of Sardegna is super yacht territory. We are not far from the Costa Smeralda – marina prices around €500 per night 😫- not going there!

Super yacht Dilbar. A mere 156 m long and yes helicopter on the back.

The headland approaching Olbia

San Stefano – Olbia

Marley 2 sitting in the bay – Golfo Di Aranci

We are further south in Olbia as we pick up friends and we have been exploring the coast south of here. Very beautiful with exquisite small bays and beaches. Houses to the water, children playing, dinghies sailing – heaven.
