Cap Corse – Corsica

We arrived on the east coast at a small village- Macinaggio. We are now officially in France.

After mooring the boat we took a walk down the street to see what is.

First thing is Pétanque and a group of young and old men and women playing in the town square.

Then an outdoor aerobics class going full tilt – and a mobile ‘gym truck’ – fun!

Lots of cafes and bars occupy the waterfront. The supermarket was doing big business in mousetraps. Maybe everyone is arriving for summer hols and finding the mices have moved in.

The next day we set sail around Cap Corse. Beautiful sailing, mountains and the North is a wilderness with very small pockets of houses dotted here and there.

We made for Port Florent – a very old fishing village dating back to Roman times. The weather is so mild that we can anchor in the bay and take the dinghy ashore.

Once onshore there is a humming village and it seems there are lots of ‘activities’ on offer here either on land or water.

We have never seen this before! A flying dinghy. Take off and landing on water and doing scenic flights.

There are some small bays further around the coast. Pristine water, white sand and again quiet.

A groovy beach bar – Cabane – sitting under the trees- very nice.

We are doing lots of swimming, a bit of reading, lots of talking and generally settling into the slower pace of life on board.
