Elba and Portoferraio

We had a day of sails and motor making our way from Giglio to Elba.

It’s reassuring having Pete and Steph on board as we try out everything. And there have been no surprises- it all is working as it should.

What we are really enjoying is the extra space. 7 feet makes a huge difference.

Portoferraio is the home to Napoleon and his modest house sits up on the hill.

The Island is only 12 miles off the Italian coast with Pisa being the closest airport and trains coming to the Port of Piombino.

Ferries going to and fro are continuous through the day and you can go to Corsica, Calabria, Genoa by sea.

The entry to the Port

We are here! Big blue dot 😊

Late afternoon light and layers

Francis and Laurie have joined us here and Peter and Steph are heading to Rome and home to Perth.

We are on our way to Corsica ⛵️while we have been hearing about the heatwave in Europe it is not here out on the water. Temperatures are around 26 and 24 in the water 💧
