Arrivederci Sicily

Please leave free!

We have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in and around Sicily.

We have had some of the best sailing and the best food. Italy and Sicily are all about ‘fresh, local food’. Their ability to provide simple, fresh fare in the remotest of locations is gratefully acknowledged.

The vino too has been varied and good. Such different tastes with the salt air, the sea, the volcanic soil and the sun.

A boutique winery called Hibiscus 🌺 on Ustica produces some of the most interesting and flavoursome wine we have ever had.

They ship anywhere in the world by the way!

Pankina has sailed like a dream with her new sails. Paolo from Sisails has been fabulous.

We have found ourselves inside a community of very ‘can do’ people – enjoyable and fun.

Pete and Matt joined us for the last couple of days in Marina Di Ragusa. We took a trip up the hill to see Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla it’s an extreme landscape of deep ravines, hilltop towns and incredible feats of Architecture. Particularly the churches.

It is a romantic, baroque city. Some of the accomodation choices in cave hotels are spectacular. A favourite is Locanda Don Serafino – the link is also st the end of the page.

These next images are Ragusa Ibla. Churches and Palaces abound.
