Sciacca to Selinunte

Roberta and Cam arrived by bus from Palermo and we picked them up in Agrigento- on we head. Next stop Sciacca.

On the way , just past Porto Empedocle we saw Le Scale dei Turchi or Turkish Steps. They are salt hills worn into steps around the headland. White white white against the blue of the water. Such an amazing blue because of the minerals. And so clear and clean.

The lido at Realmonte

Sciacca is our next harbour. It is the end of Jun

Festivals are in full swing in all these places.

This weekend is Sciacca’s turn. The music is

pumping and lights are flashing.

The houses are built right into the cliff face and

there is an enormous terme but closed now for

3 years.

We sailed on up the coast and passed Selinunte

where Temples sit above the town. Built in

600 BC they are an impressive sight.

More to come …
