Puglia

Having packed up the boat all safe and sound we took the Superfast  ferry across to Bari. It was an overnight trip so the 4 of us shared a cabin. As usual – very funny. By daylight  we are close to the Italian  coast. The plan is to hire a car and we drive to a farmhouse – Masseria Storica Pilapilucci – near Toritto.

We are staying here for 4 days. Basing ourselves in one place and road tripping around the countryside. Everything is very close by Australian standards.

The Farmhouse is one of many ancient buildings in the area. This one had been in Amelia’s family for 700 years. They grow olives and almonds. Amelia has become famous for the quality of her almonds. And her quest house is also famous for its food with Vegeterian being a speciality. So you can see why I chose it!

Every night was 4 courses of the most delicious food and interesting people from all over Europe.
