Venice and the Biennale

We are staying in a beautiful apartment overlooking the Canal in Castello.

It is an easy walk up to the Giardini and Arsenale – the 2 main sites.

Thursday was the opening of the Australian Pavilion entitled ‘ The Pool’.

Loads of Australians there – the most they have ever had. And Venice turned on a spectacular day.

We spent the rest of Thirsday looking at the other Pavilions in the Giardini. It is a big day with lots to take in.

The overwhelming message is ‘ how do we house everybody ‘. With so many people on the move and countries taking them in, the need is for community housing that is sensitive to everyone’s needs. And the creativity and ideas are brilliant.

It is obvious that it is all action now. No more talking about recycling, sustainable, green etc. it is all in.

India and Africa are stars with their ability to overcome enormous hurdles as is Germany with its willingness to provide and include.
