Venice and the Biennale

We flew into Venice last night and got a fabulous view over the island(s).

We took a speedboat into the Hotel which is on a canal. A beautiful Palazzo with a large garden. Painted ceilings, marble floors and Rocco on Reception who has contact with every restaurant around it seems.

Day One – to the Giardini to visit the Australian Pavilion et al.

The Australian Pavilion

Full frontal to the canal

Beautiful paper weaving

An amazing collection of driftwood

Fiona Hall is the Artist and the body of work displayed is extensive. Out of all the Pavilions, Australia is a standout.

As is Japan

The whole room is woven with string and old keys hanging from it
