We have had two days here in Rome. We got in late on Ssturday night and had decided to stay in Trastevere at the Hotel Santa Maria. It is the cloisters from the church of the same name. A central courtyard lined with orange trees gives welcome cool and space to a hot and crowded Rome. 

   
      
So many people in the streets on Saturday night – queues for tables at hundreds of cafes – and it’s 10.30pm. Too many people to drive in – we trundled our bags through the last little bit. Lots of energy, lots of fun. 

   
            
Then walk, walk, walk ….. Look at lots of things, re visit some others and then we bump into old Perth friends – what a hoot. 

Didy and Georgina – very old Pony Club and Uni friends – Pip and Steve – they are just beginning their holidays – a really nice way to finish this trip.
