We have arrived and are staying in the Monasteraki district.
It is the old town and we are surrounded by alleyways, markets and roman and Greek ruins.
As we walk along the streets the Acropolis is ever visible and old churches and buildings are woven into the new.
It’s hot – 32 today.
We walked up to the Acropolis. It’s incredible the restoration work they are doing. Painstaking.
