After 5 weeks on board Pankina – which you have to pronounce ‘punkeena’ for the Turks to understand – it is exciting to pack up and prepare to come home.
We have covered 500nm in that time. As far north as Gumusluk and east to Antalya.
The coastline changes constantly from arid rocky mountains to cedar and pine covered slopes. The further east you go the more dramatic it becomes as the mountains soar.
There are less places to stop but when you do there are villages that are picturesque.
What is constant is the beauty of the landscape and the sea and the meeting of the two.
You never tire of watching it. Of being in it.
